Good, Better and Best

Ah, a fresh start- it feels great! With college kids just now returning to school, I've had a later than normal start to the New Year. Yet this year, I don't feel the panic I have in previous years. Three simple words, taught by a beloved hero, Dallin H. Oaks, completely changed my experience this holiday season and I can feel it impacting the New Year already. Perhaps it will help you as you ponder your choices for the New Year. The three word test to ask when choices are before you is simply - good, better & best!

In a nutshell, there are many things we can fill our year and our lives with. We have personal, family, work related, community, perhaps church, social activities to fit in. Oh, of course there's our health & lifestyle choices - what to eat and how to spend our time. During the holidays I asked myself, (especially when all the options looked good) "what is the best use of my time". Certainly accomplishing things on our list is a good thing, serving others may be better and yet some times, the best thing may be to take some quiet time to ponder and nurture ourselves, some exercise to invigorate our minds and bodies, or perhaps be some one on one time with a loved one.

As you move forward to create the best year of your life- one filled with health, vitality, happiness and success, may you remember these 3 simple words!

Fondly,

Lori
